Thank you for visiting the online open house for Sound Transit’s Operations and Maintenance Facility (OMF) South. To catch you up, we published a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in spring 2021. We then compiled and evaluated all comments and provided a summary to the Sound Transit Board in December 2021. The Board identified South 336th Street site in Federal Way as the preferred alternative for the location of the OMF South.

We had anticipated publishing the Final Environmental Impact Statement under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) for the OMF South by the end of 2022; however, we now anticipate the Final EIS to be published and the Board’s decision on the project to be built no earlier than the second quarter of 2023. Ongoing design efforts have taken longer than anticipated. The Final EIS will include responses to substantive comments from Tribes, the public, agencies, and cities received during the Draft EIS comment period in spring 2021. The Final EIS will study the Preferred Alternative along with the other two alternatives studied in the Draft EIS.
